Open #poem

This poem I wrote for a Hope Writers challenge was in my memories today and I wanted to share it! 😁

Speak to me lord for I am listening
My heart is an OPEN book and you are the author
I want my life to be your story
Because only your words are life giving water

Use me lord to write your words
I want to be OPEN
To share what I’ve learned
Because only you can save this broken and hurting world

Remember

I wrote this poem last year as part of Hope Writer’s Instagram challenge. I think it’s funny that this particular post came up in my memories today because they are currently doing another challenge and today’s prompt is REMEMBER 😁

REMEMBER

In these uncertain times, Lord help me remember the promises you spoke to my heart

that you will never leave me nor forsake me

that You are always for me and not against me

that you always give good gifts to your children

that You give me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness

remind me of Your faithfulness in the past so I can hold on to the hope of the future

I thank You Lord for all you have done for me and give you glory for what you will continue to do

To write means more than putting pretty words on a page…

“To write means more than putting pretty words on a page; the act of writing is to share a part of your soul with the world.” – unknown

This is why I feel called to write. God has given me a love for journaling and poetry. I find it very therapeutic, but he’s also given me a desire to want to share my testimony with others. One of my spiritual gifts is encourager. So, I want to share my story with others in hopes that I can encourage someone else with some of the experiences that I’ve gone through.
